Description

The Duotone DUKE is a 5-batten sail designed for advanced to expert riders who want maximum wind range and precise handling in wave, bump-and-jump, and freestyle conditions.

The 5-batten layout gives you more control and a wider wind range, especially when conditions are gusty or constantly changing. The real challenge is creating a 5-batten sail light enough to remain agile. Duotone’s answer is the LIGHT DONE RIGHT construction. It replaces traditional multi-layer reinforcements with a single layer of high-quality fabric and incorporates the ONE PIECE SLEEVE, reducing the total weight by 300 g compared to conventional constructions. Crucially, the foil and XPly panel thickness remain the same, so the sail retains its shape under load and stays responsive in your hands. This material durability is also the basis for the DUKE’s 5-YEAR WARRANTY.

The BATTEN FREE CENTER concept allows for greater spacing between the foot batten and the batten above the Boom. The boom area inflates more easily. The denser batten arrangement toward the top keeps the profile stable even in the strongest gusts.

A high, forward-shifted profile position offers two clear advantages. First, the DUKE gets up to speed early, even without aggressive pumping. Second, it becomes completely neutral the moment you fill the sail or shift. This clean power-off response directly increases your success rate on tricks and jibes. That same forward-shifted profile generates lift for jumping and keeps you in control from takeoff to landing.

Since the DUKE’s profile position matches that of most modern freeride sails, this sail fits seamlessly into any quiver without needing a break-in period. You’ll simply get the same familiar power delivery on a freewave setup as you would on a larger freeride setup.

For 2027, the DUKE is available in a new black-and-white colorway. The construction and performance remain unchanged.
