. Going beyond your imagination. Built like a high-end custom board. With the ULTRA FreeWave, our main goal was to move away from the typical “do-it-all” compromise board.

That’s why we didn’t take the usual route of creating an “easy-going” freemove board and then trying to cram as many classic wave and freestyle skills as possible into the shape. Instead, we took the opposite approach.

The basis of the development was therefore a powerful New School freestyle board that automatically delivers maximum acceleration and control.

This shape was then tuned to also function as a wave board in logo-high side-on waves. For the ULTRA FreeWave to perform in side-on wave conditions, it had to be crisp, responsive, and work with a tri-fin setup.

So what are the most important ingredients for a great bump-and-jump freemove board? For us, it’s all about explosive acceleration, control, and maneuverability.

But what’s truly new and unique for a board like this is that crisp, direct feel. Instead of being boring, the ULTRA FreeWave offers an exciting, sporty ride without sacrificing control or wind range. That’s why the FreeWave earned the ULTRA designation. The ULTRA FreeWave isn’t just lively during new maneuvers—it’s also super exciting when cruising straight downwind, putting a smile on your face throughout the entire session.

Our second priority was to develop the first maneuver-oriented convertible that works in both single-fin and tri-fin setups and dramatically changes its character:

>> With the tri-fin setup, it offers 70% of the GRIP 3’s wave potential (top/bottom turns)

>> With a single-fin setup, it now feels much more exciting than its predecessor

>> Combined with a purebred freestyle fin, the ULTRA FreeWave offers 70% of the hardcore freestyle potential of the SKATE

But we didn’t stop there. Instead of the industry-standard semi-custom technology, the ULTRA FreeWave is now built using full-custom technology, as found in high-end custom boards. As a result, both versions are approximately 200g lighter than their predecessors, yet significantly sturdier.

So as you can see, the legendary FreeWave has been improved in every way and is now deservedly called the ULTRA FreeWave.
