GO Softtop softboards were developed using various materials in specific areas to meet the specific needs of beginner surfers and to provide protection against the most common causes of damage—issues that have often caused problems in the past for surfers who are not yet accustomed to handling a surfboard. Solid black bumpers have been attached to the nose and tail to protect these areas, which are frequently damaged during use. Additionally, the core of a GO Softboard is structurally reinforced to prevent warping and unwanted flex, which often occurs in soft surfboards even after minimal use. The sponge-like foam surface on the top was specifically chosen to be both soft and comfortable for lying or standing on, while also withstanding daily use. The underside of a GO Softtop softboard consists of a similarly soft foam embedded under an elastic, smooth coating. This minimizes friction between the board and the water, thereby improving the surfer’s ability to glide across the water. A soft surfboard should not only provide a safe introduction to the sport but should also offer the performance features that help surfers smoothly master the first steps of learning to surf.
