Introducing the Patrik AIO Foil aluminum mast.
The ALU 65 mast is designed for foiling in flat water, for beginner courses in wind foiling and wing foiling, and for children.
The ALU 75 mast offers a good balance between stiffness and length. Recommended for surf foiling and winging, and for heavier riders.
Use the ALU 85 mast for more control and pop or for wind foiling. Not recommended for riders over 209 lbs, who should check out our carbon masts instead.
General information:
With a short mast, turning, tilting, and rolling the Foils is easier to control. Stall bars occur more frequently because you have less length to control the flight, but touch-downs are easier and can be done with less effort from a lower height. Jibes and tacks are easier because you need less centrifugal force (less speed) to stay on the board.
A longer mast allows for higher speeds. At higher speeds, it becomes impossible to follow the water surface and adjust the flight height to every bump you ride over. At the same time, the increased center of gravity makes it more difficult to control the Foil. Heavier riders will also notice a difference in the stiffness of the mast as it gets longer.
