Simply put, the Egg Not is a squash-tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. With the growing popularity of mid-length boards, we decided it was more or less a given that we’d offer a squash-tail mid-length board. The squash tail offers a little more surface area, extends the rail line, and provides a more responsive ride than a round tail. The Egg Not is a great board to have in your quiver. When the swell is average, you can catch the wave well and ride through the sections, but the board is still loose enough to turn with ease. And when the swell gets a little bigger, it still performs amazingly well! The Egg Not features moderate rocker at the front of the board, which aids paddling speed, wave catch, and overall glide. The curve is slightly above average, which helps tighten the arc of your turns without sacrificing speed. The board’s thickness is a bit too thin for a board of this size. The slimmer rails make it easier to push the board into the water and also help it hold up better in bigger surf. The fin setup is up to you. For a better riding experience, we recommend a 4-fin quad setup. If you’re looking for a slightly more cruising-oriented or traditional feel, go with a 2-plus-1 setup. Dimensions: 7.2 x 21.25 x 2.88 – 49.6 liters 4-fin quad or single fin +2 setup, compatible with Futures fins Includes: Board without fins Torq ACT Prepreg Construction: From race cars to racing yachts, the highest-performance composites are made from and utilize pre-preg materials. It’s the pinnacle of composite technology. Through years of working with epoxy surfboards and developing and testing pre-preg materials, we have developed the world’s first EPS/epoxy pre-preg surfboard. This represents a significant advancement in surfboard technology. The term “prepreg” describes a material in which the resin is mechanically pre-impregnated under controlled conditions. Prepreg composites are cured under heat and high pressure. This curing process ensures a much stronger hardening of the resin. The benefits for surfboards are numerous—greater precision, fewer defects, perfect reproducibility—but the greatest advantage lies in the interplay of the key performance factors: flex and strength-to-weight ratio.
