Most surf leashes have three weak points: the metal swivels corrode, the cord overstretches during hard impacts, and the Velcro fastener on the rail eventually gives way. The Future Leash from Ventores consistently solves all three problems in a new way.
At its heart is the ToughCord cord: just 5.8 mm thick, but sheathed in a Dyneema braid that, according to the manufacturer, is up to 15 times more tear-resistant than steel. Beneath that is a BASF TPU core that absorbs impact energy. The result is a cord that’s thinner than many competition leashes but offers the reliability of an all-around model. Less water resistance, more riding feel.
The swivels are completely metal-free. Ventores replaces the usual metal eyelets with the patented SoftSwivel system, consisting of Dyneema knots on polyamide bearing surfaces. No rust, no sand buildup, no jammed pivot points after a season in saltwater. The SafeLock Rail Saver distributes the tensile load across three layers of Velcro instead of one, which significantly slows down wear and tear.
What also makes the Future Leash interesting: Its modular design allows you to replace individual components—such as the ankle strap, cord, or Rail-Saver—separately, without having to replace the entire system. Longer-lasting, less waste.
