Forward WIP has specialized in safety equipment for water sports enthusiasts since 2015, with a particular focus on foiling. At speeds exceeding 30 km/h, the human body’s natural shock-absorbing capabilities are no longer sufficient. Forward WIP develops protective gear designed specifically for these conditions.
Behind every product is a development process involving engineers, athletes, and testers who are themselves on the water. The brand supplies Olympic sailing teams, SailGP sailors, and PWA athletes, but also makes the same technology available to every recreational sailor.
Forward WIP does not develop its products based on the idea that “soft enough feels safe.” Each product line is based on proprietary technologies: WIP Inside ensures precise impact absorption in helmets and vests, WIP 3DS features a three-dimensional mapping system that precisely adapts protective layers to the body’s shape, and Eco Cork provides sustainable protective inserts made from recycled industrial waste. Flow Vortex technology optimizes aerodynamic and hydrodynamic properties so that protective gear doesn’t slow the rider down. The result is products that are as unobtrusive as possible out on the trail, but are there exactly when it matters most.
Forward WIP is a member of 1% for the Planet and donates one percent of its annual revenue to environmental initiatives. Anyone who spends time on the water has a natural interest in keeping that water clean. At WIP, this isn’t just a marketing promise—it’s embedded in our structure. Sustainability begins with the selection of materials, continues through production, and culminates in long-term product design that prioritizes durability over wear and tear.
Forward WIP is one of the best-selling protective gear brands at Wind Lounge. We’ll help you find the right product for your sport: which vest for wing foiling, which helmet for high-speed foiling, and whether or not you need an integrated harness hook. Before you buy—and even after.
