Introducing the Jimmy Lewis Flying VM Board.

FLYING VM DIMENSIONS

  • 4-8 x 22 x 4-3/8 x 60L
  • 5-0 x 24 x 4-5/8 x 75L
  • 5-4 x 26 x 4-5/8 x 85L
  • 5-8 x 27 x 4-5/8 x 95L

Vitor Marcal, a lifeguard on the North Shore and one of the first foilers 18 years ago when Laird and a few others first tested it, asked me to build him a low-drag foilboard when the board comes off the Foil.

The first thing that came to mind that landed well on the water was a seaplane. So I did a little research and shaped him a board with a similar underwater hull to a seaplane, and it worked great for him at the time. Now, almost 20 years later, I've revived this shape for the Wing board models.

Not only do these boards guide the rider back onto the Foil with little or no resistance when they touch down, but they also take off much more easily and quickly. This unique bottom shape, combined with rails that are beveled at just the right angle, ensures very low resistance and additional lift as soon as the board has a little forward momentum.

I don't use gimmicks with my shapes. All my designs and shapes are proven, hydrodynamic marvels.
