Our special Foil-Freerace sail combines the ultimate Foil-technologies of ours Neilpryde Flight EVO range with the ease of use of the Neilpryde V8. The V8 Flight is the ultimate high performance freerace sail for the Foil - it's super fast and easy to control at any time. Four sizes from 5 sqm to 8 sqm give everyone the opportunity to beat their competitors in a wide wind range of approx. 6-25 knots to overtake with ease. Directly derived from our RS:Flight program, the V8 Flight offers almost as much speed, power and upwind/downwind capabilities as our pure racingFoil-Sail, but with a narrower luff sleeve and only 2 cams. |
| Construction with narrow double luff | A significantly narrower luff than the RS:Flight allows for quicker and easier rigging and minimizes the luff's ability to fill with water when submerged after a fall |
| Easier to set up than a pure slalom sail | With only 2 cams and slightly less overall downhaul voltage, the V8 Flight can be set up significantly faster than a fully chambered one Foil-Slalom sail |
| Jibe and rotation | The advantage of a double batten sail for gybes is that rotation is smoother and easier. This is particularly helpful when foiling, where even slight movements of the sail can affect the flight of the sail Foils in the throat. |
| Foil Specific | The V8 Flight, designed exclusively for the foil free-race, utilizes design features based on Fins-Sailing is not possible due to the need for control and wind release. |
| High aspect design | The design of the V8 Flight is directly derived from the high aspect design of the RS:Flight. This allows the sail to make the most of every gust and promotes maximum speed and upwind and downwind performance. |
| Tight windward edge | Since controlling waves is not a problem when you are on the Foil the V8 Flight is designed with a narrower leech than a pure slalom sail. This increases acceleration and efficiency and allows the use of a smaller sail. |
| 6 batten design | There Foil-Sails don't need to be designed so heavily for control, we were able to reduce the V8 Flight to 6 battens, saving excess weight and giving the sail a softer feel and better pumping/jibing characteristics. |
