We present the JP Australia Slalom S-TEC 2026.
FREESTYLE TAKEN TO A NEW LEVEL
Our freestyle boards were developed in collaboration with JP’s freestyle experts Yentel Caers and Sam Esteve and are designed for maximum performance. The shapes are short, responsive, and radical, allowing you to execute spins, rotations, and pop with incredible speed and precision. Despite their liveliness, the boards still offer the early Planeing and speed potential of their predecessors. The tail delivers a powerful pop, allowing you to land multiple rotations and spectacular freestyle moves with ease. Thanks to the S-TEC Construction introduced last year, all moves are easier than ever before—saving weight and taking performance to a whole new level.
At JP, we’ve always been at the forefront of freestyle board development. Together with our team riders, we push the boundaries and set new trends. Our latest shapes continue this tradition: a full focus on the new school freestyle potential, without losing sight of ride quality and performance.
S-TEC
Introduced last year, the groundbreaking S-TEC technology is once again in the spotlight this year. The boards are between 300 and 400 grams lighter—a true game-changer. Several design details make this possible:
-
No paint
-
Anti-slip coating only in the foot zones
-
Smaller and thinner pads—less EVA, less adhesive
-
Optimized lamination process, with fibers prepared and laminated separately
Durability remains at the usual high level thanks to high-quality S-Glass replacing Innegra, biaxial carbon reinforcements, and UD carbon layers beneath the high-density PVC. The bottom laminate now extends over the rails; combined with the overlapping deck laminate, this acts like an additional stringer along the rails and provides greater stiffness and stability.
The result: a completely new look and feel, and a lighter board with a significantly improved riding experience.
Performance for New Moves
Success in modern freestyle depends on double power moves. That’s why the development focus was on speed during the pop, so that triple moves become the new norm. Shaper Werner Gnigler made the boards slightly shorter than their predecessors for this purpose. This reduces swing weight and improves reaction speed during the pop. Slides and aerial spins become faster and more controlled, and triple moves are easily achievable. Despite their shorter length, the new shapes are longer than many other models on the market, offering an accessible all-around performance package in all conditions.
The flat scoop rocker line provides the necessary lift, early planing, and speed. Our ultra-light technology further enhances this.
The deck dome is crucial for stability, not only when standing normally but also during switch riding. Since many moves are performed in switch these days, the board must meet these demands. The subtle dome perfectly balances performance and stability.
The tail combines width and thickness, offering sufficient lift while still allowing the board to dip slightly during a powerful takeoff. The low weight lets the boards jump higher and makes them feel lighter and more agile in the air.
The bottom shape features a defined V from the Baseplate forward, combined with a gentle tuckline for smooth sliding and a bit of forgiveness during tricks. Toward the tail, there’s a flat V with a pronounced tuckline for grip, power, and a strong connection to the water, while still maintaining a loose board feel.
All boards are equipped with dual footstrap plugs for maximum control.
More than just classic freestyle boards: All sizes feature JP’s reinforced Foil Powerbox, and the compact, wide shapes are perfect for Foil riding. Just mount your Foil and take off while other freestylers are still waiting for wind. Wing riding is also possible, though not specifically optimized for it.
